Turmeric and ginger have so many incredible health properties. Using them dried is great, but if you’re able to use the fresh root they’ll prove even more beneficial. Added to freshly pressed juices they provide a real kick. I also love making turmeric and ginger almond milk, which in turn can be used to create this delicious chia seed pudding.

Layered with fresh berries and a super smooth, creamy chocolate mousse. This recipe is so healthy – it’s perfect for breakfast, brunch or dessert.

1 pear

Chunk of ginger

Chunk of turmeric root

100ml almond milk

Tsp honey

3 tbsp chia seeds

Half an avocado

Tbsp cacao powder

Tbsp honey

Drop of almond milk

2 dried, pitted dates

Twist or two of black pepper

Run the pear, turmeric and ginger roots through a juicer to extract the liquid. Add the liquid to a bowl of milk and stir in the honey and chia seeds

Leave the chia seeds to absorb the milk, expand and set. Place in the fridge until needed

Blitz the avocado, dates, cacao, black pepper and honey together. Depending on how ripe the avocado is you may need to add a drop of almond milk to blend smoothly

Spoon the set chia pudding into a glass or jar, add some fresh raspberries and serve with chocolate mousse, cashew cream and clean trail mix.
