If you’ve never used avocado and cacao to make a chocolate mousse, you’re seriously missing out. It’s honestly the creamiest, dreamiest, easiest, healthiest chocolate dessert I’ve ever tasted! My mission this week was to create a delicious, sweet treat that incorporates the very best ingredients for our skin.

Brazil nuts are one of the best dietary sources of selenium. Dietary selenium is essential for an optimum immune response. Inadequate intake, and intestinal disorders that affect absorption can lead to deficiencies, and this can have consequences for our general health as well as the health of our skin.

Not only are avocados high in fibre, they’re sodium and cholesterol free. They hold over twenty essential nutrients, they’re rich in healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats – the “good” kind that actually lower cholesterol levels (such as omega-3 and 6 fatty acids). Avocados are crammed with vitamins including  A, B, C, D, E, and K, plus they’re rich in potassium.

With avocado, cacao, banana, brazil nuts, blueberries AND chia seeds in this delicious dessert, you’re actually cramming six superfoods into one simple, heavenly recipe.

Blueberry Sundae

INGREDIENTS

1 very ripe avocado

1 very ripe banana

5 brazil nuts

1 heaped teaspoon of cacao powder

Drop of honey

Handful of blueberries

100ml almond milk

3 tablespoons of chia seeds

HERE’S HOW

Blitz the avocado, banana, brazil nuts, cacao and honey in a food processor until smooth and creamy

Stir the chia seeds into a glass of almond milk and leave them to expand and set

Spoon the chia pudding and chocolate mousse into a glass jar, layering with fresh blueberries

Serve as a dessert or a deliciously indulgent, superfood breakfast
